WP’s Louis Chua calls for BTO eligibility age for singles to be lowered to 28

A call to lower the eligibility age for singles to buy Build-To-Order flats. Workers’ Party MP Louis Chua told Parliament that reducing it to 28 from the current 35 would go a long way in realising Singapore’s public housing aim to be inclusive and reflect society’s diversity. Mr Chua also urged the government to increase the housing supply to meet the demand for all Singaporeans. He said application rates have reached new record highs, suggesting that the demand-supply imbalance is still a critical concern.
