Workforce Singapore’s Volunteer Career Advisors initiative gains traction

A programme that draws on the experience of industry professionals to mentor jobseekers and especially mature workers is gaining traction. Workforce Singapore said its Volunteer Career Advisors initiative has logged 3,000 participants in career events and advisory sessions. It has also appointed more than 300 advisors since its launch in December 2020 and plans to train another hundred by the end of the year. CNA spoke to Volunteer Career Advisor Kelvin Tan, who is Director of New Econ Holdings, and his Advisee, Jackie Tan, an E-commerce Executive at Activhealth.
