What lessons can we take from COVID-19, to deal with monkeypox?

Monkeypox has been declared a global public health emergency by the World Health Organization. CNA spoke to Dr Amesh Adalja, Senior Scholar from the Johns Hopkins University Center for Health Security, to better understand the infectious disease and the lessons to be gleaned from handling COVID-19 over the past two years. He says “you have to be proactive, you have to put in place systems to be able to quickly test, to be able to contact trace, and you have to deploy vaccines effectively”.
