US Vice President Harris visits Korea demilitarised zone, slams Pyongyang’s missile test

US Vice President Kamala Harris has slammed the North’s most recent missile test as deeply destabilising, adding that the threat of conflict on the peninsula remains. She also said Washington and Seoul stand ready for any contingency. Ms Harris made those strong remarks during her visit to the demilitarised zone that separates North and South Korea, as she capped off her four-day trip to Asia. Her trip to the DMZ was the first since former US president Donald Trump went there to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in 2019.
