According to the United Nations, the world’s oceans are facing unprecedented threats due to human activity — and fundamental changes are needed. Over 6,000 participants from more than a hundred countries have gathered at the UN Ocean Conference in Portugal. Of particular concern is the sustainable use of the world’s marine resources. Mr Peter Thomson, UN Special Envoy for the Ocean shared more about the problem of overfishing and key progress made at the conference.
