Ukrainian forces have more gains in their counteroffensive — this time, in the southern Kherson region. The Russian-installed head of Kherson said Kyiv’s troops have taken control of some settlements. However, a Moscow-backed authority has refuted further territorial gains by Kyiv. Meanwhile, Russia has dismissed calls by Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov to use low-yield nuclear weapons in Ukraine. There are fears Moscow could be more inclined to start a nuclear war in Ukraine after vowing to defend four annexed regions.
