UK inflation jumps to 10.1% in July

Cost of living pressures are increasing in the UK and faster than estimated. The annual inflation rate breached the 10 per cent barrier in July for the first time in 40 years. The consumer price index accelerated to 10.1 per cent last month from 9.4 per cent in June, driven largely by higher food and fuel costs.
