Singapore has officially opened its newest, state-of-the-art container terminal. Speaking at the opening of Tuas Port, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said Singapore’s decision to press on with works despite the COVID-19 pandemic sends a strong signal to the world that the nation is open for business. Three berths are now in operation, with the number set to reach five by year’s end. When completed in about 20 years, the Tuas Port will be able to handle almost double the volume Singapore currently handles.
