Another earthquake has struck southeastern Taiwan — the third in three days. The US Geological Survey says the 5.5-magnitude tremor occurred this morning, 66km southwest of the coastal city of Hualien. The island has been rattled by more than 70 aftershocks since yesterday. Clean-up operations and rescue efforts are underway. One death was reported, while more than 140 people were injured. Many train carriages have been derailed — the damage is so severe that authorities said train services may be disrupted for up to a month.
