Singapore considering legislation to prevent cancel culture: K Shanmugam

Singapore is considering legislation to prevent a “cancel culture”, as it prepares to repeal a law that criminalises sex between men. In an interview with Bloomberg, Law Minister K Shanmugam said both religious and LGBTQ groups have told the government that they have been attacked for their different viewpoints. He stressed that people should be encouraged to express their view, as long as it is not offensive and does not descend into hate speech.
