Putin says Russia will expand ties with North Korea

Russia is turning to a reclusive ally as it becomes increasingly isolated over the war in Ukraine. President Vladimir Putin has said the country will expand relations with North Korea. In a letter to Kim Jong Un on Korea’s Liberation Day, Mr Putin wrote that strengthening ties is in the best interest of the two nations. Mr Kim responded in agreement, saying their decades-long friendship will grow stronger amid the show of military might from “hostile forces”.
