Philippines presidential election: No extension of voting hours despite machine breakdowns

Voting hours in the Philippines have officially ended, but many are still waiting to cast their ballot. Malfunctioning vote counting machines had stalled the process since the morning, leaving dozens to queue for hours. Today’s exercise was expected to have one of the highest turnouts in election history, with over 65.7 million eligible Filipino voters.
