No decision yet on when DPM Wong will take over as prime minister, but it could be before next GE

Inflation in Singapore is expected to peak next quarter and ease after that. During an interview with Bloomberg, Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong said the country is unlikely to return to levels of low inflation. Still, the government is keeping a close eye on higher prices. He assured that more assistance will be provided if the situation worsens. Addressing when he will be taking over as prime minister, Mr Wong said the transition could happen before or after the next General Election, which has to take place by November 2025.
