Home Affairs and Law Minister K Shanmugam said Joseph Schooling’s confession to taking cannabis is a setback in Singapore’s fight against drugs. The Olympic champion, along with another national swimmer Amanda Lim, had been investigated for possible offences related to cannabis consumption. Mr Shanmugam said the pair did not receive preferential treatment. He noted that their urine tests were negative and there is no conclusive evidence of current drug consumption.
