New Zealand lifts most remaining COVID-19 restrictions

New Zealand has ditched its last remaining COVID-19 restrictions, bringing an end to some of the toughest pandemic rules in the world. Travellers will no longer need to be vaccinated or take rapid antigen tests upon arrival. Masks are not required in most indoor spaces. The changes come as case numbers in New Zealand dropped to their lowest level since February. Meanwhile, Japan is also eyeing plans to scrap its COVID-19 tourism restrictions. China, on the other hand, is sticking to lockdowns amid an uptick in cases in Beijing.
