NATO allies sign accession protocols for Sweden and Finland

Finland and Sweden are on track to join NATO. Alliance members have signed accession protocols for the Nordic countries. NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg called it a “historic” moment, and insisted the alliance’s door remains open to European democracies who are willing to contribute to the region’s security. The next step is for the parliaments of each NATO member to ratify the membership bids. All 30 countries need to push them through.
