National Symbols Bill: Singapore to allow national flag to be displayed more often

You can soon display the Singapore flag more often, beyond just the National Day period. The National Symbols Bill has been passed in Parliament, replacing an Act that governed the use of the state crest, national flag and national anthem. The new bill also gives formal recognition to other national symbols, such as the National Pledge and Lion Head symbol. There are also tougher penalties for people who deliberately misuse national symbols. This includes a maximum fine of $30,000, up from $1,000.
