The suspense over when Malaysia’s next general election will be held continues. Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob did not discuss a date to dissolve Parliament with the king on Oct 6. He met the monarch at the national palace and the keenly watched visit lasted around an hour. Speculation is still rife that Mr Ismail Sabri will soon ask the king for consent to dissolve Parliament. That would start the ball rolling for snap elections.
