The calculation method for the quarterly quota for Certificate of Entitlement bidding will be adjusted from August. The Land Transport Authority said it’s aimed at reducing the quarterly volatility of COE supply. The allocation of COEs for the next quarter will be computed based on the rolling average of vehicle deregistrations over the last two quarters. However, industry watchers said the new formula is unlikely to have much impact on the rising COE premiums.
