Indian PM Modi visits Gujarat where over 130 died in bridge collapse tragedy

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has visited the bridge collapse site in the city of Morbi to assess the disaster that left at least 134 people dead. Mr Modi was accompanied by Gujarat chief minister Bhupendra Patel, who is facing strong calls to resign in the wake of the tragedy. The state government has started distributing compensation to the next of kin, ahead of statewide mourning tomorrow. Some 50 children were among those killed — the youngest just two years old.
