CPF top-ups rise by 60% to $4.8 billion in 2021; members’ balances exceed half trillion mark

Voluntary Central Provident Fund (CPF) top-ups by members increased by 60% to reach a new peak of $4.8 billion in 2021. This includes both cash top-ups and CPF transfers that members made to their own accounts and those of their loved ones. One analyst said volatile economic conditions mean CPF interest rates look increasingly attractive. Meanwhile, members’ balances grew 9.4% to exceed half a trillion dollars in 2021, with $18.3 billion earned in interest.
