Commonwealth Games: Singapore’s table tennis contingent includes four paddlers making debut

Singapore’s table tennis team will have their work cut out at the upcoming Commonwealth Games. The contingent heading to Birmingham includes four debutantes. Olympian Lin Ye misses out again with the back injury that caused her to skip the SEA Games. Leading the charge will be Feng Tianwei and Clarence Chew, who both featured at the Tokyo Olympics. The sport’s national body is not setting any medal targets for the team. But the Singapore Table Tennis Association is challenging them to do better than four years ago, when the Republic won three gold, two silver and a bronze.
