It’s been six months since the global COP26 climate summit ended with tears and regret. Climate conference president Alok Sharma broke down as he apologised for last minute changes to the wording about coal — from “phasing out” to “phasing down”. One of the main objectives of COP26 was to keep global warming to below an increase of 1.5°C. Dr Jan Minx, head of applied sustainability science at the Mercator Research Institute in Berlin, shared more about limiting global warming and peaking greenhouse gas emissions.
