China’s growth falls to 2-year low on COVID-19, property woes

China’s economy barely inched forward in the second quarter, reflecting a colossal toll on activity from widespread COVID-19 lockdowns. Economists say the slowdown is putting Beijing’s growth target increasingly out of reach. China’s GDP expanded just 0.4 per cent on-year and shrank 2.6 per cent on-quarter.
