That said, if he has to be in a movie, could you really ask for a better role than to have him play a guy who is basically unconscious for the entire film? <em>Awake</em> is an upcoming thriller from first-time writer/director Joby Harold about a man who experiences what is known as “anesthetic awareness” during open heart surgery — that is, his body is paralyzed, but he can still hear what is going on around him. Personally, this has got to be one of my biggest fears, and according to the movie’s trailer as many as 1 in 700 people have this happen to them! Yikes.</p><div style="float:right;"> <script type="text/javascript"></script><script type="text/javascript"src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js"></script>  </div><p>The catch is that while the man is in surgery, he begins to hear things he wasn’t meant to hear, and he struggles to figure out what’s real and what’s not. The trailer doesn’t reveal all that much, which is probably a good thing because I’m assuming there are some unexpected twists along the way. At least I hope there are, because otherwise this could be one really long and dull movie! The movie co-stars Jessica Alba and Terrence Howard. Sure sounds like it.</p><p>Either way, I couldn’t care less about this. Jessica Alba sucks, and she seems to be way overrated looks-wise (even though she has danish roots, even I have to admit she’s not all that). Hayden Christensen I’m neither here nor there. I like the Star Wars prequels, but hardly because of his performance. I think he could work in stuff where he should be the cool guy, but he doesn’t have any presence on screen, and his emotional moments in the two movies felt forced and had no weight to them.</p><p>It’s tough though because people seem to think George Lucas can’t direct actors. So is it Hayden Christensens fault that you didn’t like his performance? I mean it was alot of people’s first exposure to him, and it might have been a bad first impression. People are able to forgive Samuel L. I do hope he’s got some more good performances in him (he was, regardless of what people think of either movie) pretty good in “Life as a House” and “Shattered Glass”.
