MusicBritney Spears tops US download chart

The troubled singer, who lost the custody of her two sons to her ex-husband Kevin Federline earlier this week, notched up 179,000 downloads of the single in one week.
'Gimme More' is the first song from her highly-anticipated new album. It has also reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart - the highest rank for Spears since debut single 'Baby One More Time' was released in 1999.
Spears performed the new single for the first time at the MTV Video Music Awards last month but she was heavily criticised for the show after poorly lip-syncing the words. Next story:
