Tiger Woods and his wife Elin Nordegren are $183,250 richer after the couple won a lawsuit against Irish magazine The Dubliner. The Dubliner ran an article and a fake nude photo of Elin, claiming the model “can be found in a variety of sweaty poses on porn sites across the Web.” Well, they were wrong. Now the magazine must print an apology and pay the fine. The publisher has already made these public remarks:
“(The article) was cheap, tasteless, and deliberately offensive. It was also completely untrue.”
“The photograph was not of Ms. Nordegren Woods. There are no such photographs of Ms. Nordegren Woods on internet sites or elsewhere. Ms. Nordegren Woods has never posed, or been photographed, nude. The story was utterly and comprehensively false.”
The Woods family says they will donate the money won in the lawsuit to a cancer charity named in memory of Heather Clarke, wife of Irish golfer Darren Clarke.
