Aishwarya Rai - The Biggest Name in Bollywood

Aishwarya Rai, Miss World 1994 and voted most beautiful of all Miss Worlds, has been a prolific actress in Indian cinema (a.k.a., Bollywood) since 1997. She made her debut in English language film in 2004 with Bride and Prejudice. She is sure to do very well in the American market, due to her stunning beauty and also her kind personality. Also, as a devout Hindu, she is not in the class (nor would like to be mentioned in the same breath, I would imagine) as many American celebrities, such as those mentioned in the last few posts. Though she is certainly gorgeous, she is also very moral, and brilliant to boot. She was an architecture major before becoming a model, and she speaks five (yes, 5!) languages fluently at the age of 33. She should be seen as a role model to young women everywhere. I recommend seeing her latest movie (Hindi language, subtitled in English, Hebrew, or Arabic) Umrao Jaan.
